DYPA wishes to warn all citizens against telephone scams from fraudsters posing as DYPA officers
The Public Employment Service (DYPA) wishes to warn citizens because lately there have been cases of telephone calls from strangers claiming that they call on behalf of DYPA and asking bank account details, aiming to extract personal data or money under false pretences.
DYPA wishes to state that citizens need to be very careful and encourages them to read carefully and follow the following instructions so that they can protect themselves against fraud attempts:
DYPA officers will never ask for personal data over the phone: Under no circumstances will DYPA ask for your personal data, bank account number or any other sensitive information via telephone.
Verify the caller's identity: If you get at phone call by someone claiming (s)he represents DYPA, do not disclose any personal information. If you have any doubt, end the phone call and call directly at our Service using the official phone number provided in our website or at the official documents you have received.
Do not click on links or open attached files coming from unknown sources: Should you receive an email or a SMS asking you to click on any link or to open attached files, do not do so. This is a common way for criminals to gain access to your personal accounts.
Get information on the official communication channels: For any issue pertaining to our Service you can always contact DYPA via the official communication links published on our website (dypa.gov.gr). Any attempt of communication from unknown numbers or addresses are suspicious.
Protecting your personal data and securing your communication is of outmost importance to DYPA and this is why citizens receiving phone calls of that kind are requested to be very cautious, to inquire about the caller's identify, to contact immediately the police and to inform DYPA about the incidence.
