JOBmatch 2.0: new upgraded app ensuring faster matching of businesses and employees in the tourism and hospitality sectors
As of today, Wednesday, 30 April, the new, upgraded app “JOBmatch 2.0 by DYPA” is available, directly matching businesses with jobseekers in the tourism and hospitality sectors. After a full year in operation, the new app version is available free of charge, aiming to ensure more effective and faster job matching.
Since May 2024, when the jobmatch.dypa.gov.gr platform for businesses and the JOBmatch app for jobseekers started operating, DYPA has offered both businesses and citizens the opportunity to use another important tool, which facilitates their unmediated communication in real time.
After one year of operation and following a relevant evaluation of users’ suggestions and ideas, DYPA now offers the new, improved JOBmatch 2.0 for jobseekers and activates for the first time a relevant app for businesses, JOBmatch Business 2.0, which further facilitates fast and direct matching of vacancies with jobseekers.
Both applications are even more user-friendly and functional, thanks to a number of key improvements, including:
• Decrease in the number of steps required for matching
• Option for both companies and candidates to choose between matching suggestions
• Possibility for online interviews
• Improved updates (through emails and notifications)
• Easier location selection.
During the first year of the JOBmatch platform’s operation, 2,695 businesses and 19,143 citizens were registered, of whom 9,408 (49%) were unemployed. Furthermore, more than 13,700 job vacancies were published, 33,016 matches were made, and 9,342 unmediated interviews were conducted.
Minister of Labour and Social Security, Niki Kerameos, stated:
"Strengthening employment is a strategic priority for both the Ministry of Labour and the Greek Government. To this end, the JOBmatch 2.0 platform, after its successful first phase, aims to cover the increased needs of the tourism and hospitality sectors in an even more direct and targeted way. Upgraded with new, improved features, it offers a modern, fast and user-friendly tool for both jobseekers and businesses. We support workers in finding jobs faster and businesses in effectively meeting their crucial staffing needs by investing in modern tools that respond to actual labour market needs ".
DYPA Governor, Spiros Protopsaltis, stated:
"After one year of successful operation, the upgraded JOBmatch 2.0 now becomes even more user-friendly, with several improved features. Since May 2024, when businesses and citizens were provided with a new, modern job matching tool, our goal has been to help address the major labour shortages in the tourism and hospitality sectors. Now DYPA takes a step further to facilitate businesses by creating an app exclusively for them, the JOBmatch Business 2.0 app. Moreover, DYPA has paid close attention to the users' needs and suggestions and has, thus, added new features and simplified the app for jobseekers. We will continue to invest in innovative tools by supporting both businesses and jobseekers and placing emphasis on sectors with significant needs, such as tourism and hospitality. We will continue to invest in new, innovative digital tools to strengthen employment".
