Business Subsidy Programme aimed at hiring 5,000 unemployed people in the Regional Unit of Thessaly 

OBJECTIVE

To create 5.000 full-time jobs for unemployed persons in Thessaly

BENEFICIARIES

Private businesses active in the Regional Unit of Thessaly.

BENEFICIARIES

Unemployed persons, registered with DYPA's Digital Register in the Regional Unit of Thessaly, aged 18+.

STATEAIDSTATUS

If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, it should not have reduced its staff over the month prior to the application, nor should it have received a state aid of more than €300,000 over the past 3 years.

If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GAK) state aid status, it should not have reduced its staff over the 12 months prior to the application, nor should it have received a state aid of more than €5,500,000 since the year 2014. Beneficiaries of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GAK) belong to one of the two following categories:

Disadvantaged persons: 1) unemployed people who have not been in regular paid employment during the last six months prior to their referral or 2) unemployed persons aged 18-24 or 3) unemployed people graduates of compulsory education who have not completed the secondary education or have not received any vocational training or 4) unemployed persons aged 50+

Severely disadvantaged persons: 1) unemployed people who have not been in regular paid employment during the last 24 months prior to their referral or 2) unemployed people who have not been in regular paid employment during the last 12 months and belong to one of the categories of "disadvantaged persons".

DURATION

If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, the subsidy duration is 12 months with the option of a 6 months extension.

If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GAK) state aid status, the subsidy duration to hire a disadvantaged person is 12 months and 12 months with the option of a 6 months extension to hire a severely disadvantaged person.

In the case of tourist/ seasonal businesses, the subsidy duration is 5 months.

 

SUBSIDY AMOUNT

a) If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, the subsidy amount is 75% of the wage and non-wage costs for a maximum amount of €1.275,00 per month.

b) If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GAK)state aid status, the subsidy amount is 50% of the wage and non-wage costs up to a maximum of €1.275,00 per month.

  • Businesses choose the state aid status and define number of jobs, the specialities and the necessary qualifications.
  • DYPA confirms that the business meets the conditions and an employment counsellor refers job candidates to the business in accordance with the qualifications required for the vacancy.
  • The business chooses one of the candidates and recruits the unemployed person.
